In October, 2014, I participated in a wonderful week-long "Composers Workshop" at her home in western Massachusetts. There were seven participants from all over - I was the only one from New England. I was certainly the least advanced of those taking the course, but I came away with so many ideas and things that I had learned from Alice and from the group.

Our days consisted of much singing, listening to, discussing, and singing our own compositions and Alice's works from over the years. We heard many things about her interactions with the great Robert Shaw, her teacher at Juilliard and life-long collaborator in arranging and composing. It was so worthwhile and enjoyable.
